Wildlife Wanders

A trail to know & explore the forest ecosystem & its importance for the environmental wellbeing & climate safety of our nature.

Session Summary:

In honor of Wildlife Week, GreenLine is highlighting Mumbai's urban biodiversity with the assistance of Maharashtra Nature Park and their experts. Biodiversity remains the answer to a number of long-term development challenges. Biodiversity is the foundation upon which we can rebuild better, from nature-based solutions to climate change, health issues, food and water security, and sustainable livelihoods.

The session started with a butterfly garden explaining the migration of butterflies & their lifecycle, the plants on which butterflies survive were shown and the category of host & nectaring were explained. Then we moved to A.V hall for leopard conservation street play performed by Rishi Valmiki Eco School RVES. It was an eye opening play expressing the real life problems caused by humans to leopards. Then we moved ahead with a nature trail exploring the great biodiversity the nature park holds to itself from learning about small ants to giant trees.

The session ended with a visit to the nursery of MNP for participants to explore the plants & pick the best one’s for them.

The session concluded with a Q&A session where participants can clarify any questions they may have.
