The theme for this year is ‘Saving Blue’. GreenLine will bring to schools the reality of our water resources in Mumbai and how we can conserve and protect them beginning at a grassroots level. Recently, the city of Mumbai adopted a Climate Action Plan (MCAP), which aims to highlight demographic data, define socio-economic and ecological features of the city, create a ‘climate profile’ by setting tangible emission reduction goals and developing action and implementation strategies. All these will be achieved, by conducting an in-depth sector analysis across six key areas. This year, we will focus on ‘Urban Flooding and Water Resource Management’. Hence, throughout this academic year, we will assist the students in:
The Story of Water: Introduction to MCAP, basics of water as a resource and sources of water.
Diving in the Big Blues: Explore the marine and freshwater biomes, water-related natural disasters, and other issues surrounding water.
A Fresh Start: Exploring and learning to adopt nature-based solutions for water conservation and flood-risk management.
