Bin-Diving

Greenline organised Bin-Diving, a waste segregation workshop, on Saturday 14th May 2022, at AV Hall, Don Bosco Campus, Matunga, in collaboration with Hum Prithvi Se, the green lifestyle experts. This event aimed to raise awareness about waste segregation and the importance of waste management for a cleaner environment. The event was held in online as well as offline mode. They described the state of the deonar dumping yard and how dangerous it is for the nearby residents, the majority of whom live in slums. Also, how self-waste segregation will help to reduce burden on rag pickers & other segregation employees for waste management.

During the event, a demonstration-based activity for waste segregation was carried out for people to get hands-on experience of it. They also made people familiar with different types of environmentally friendly personal care products and demonstrated the use of soap nuts for making soap out of it. They also explained how to use 10 R’s of Environment conscious behaviour.

The session concluded with a Q&A session in which participants clarified their doubts and shared their experiences. Some people expressed their appreciation for the session. Before the session ended, photographs were taken.

The event was a huge success because the participants were astonished to understand more about conscious waste management methods.

The event was a milestone, with 26 ambitious participants and memories and experiences to cherish.
